This one-day, hands-on workshop offers a practical, deep dive into OpenShift Virtualisation (powered by KubeVirt). Learn how to seamlessly run traditional Virtual Machines (VMs) alongside container workloads on a single, unified OpenShift platform.
KubeVirt is an extension of Kubernetes that follows the Operator pattern. Originally launched by Red Hat in 2016, KubeVirt has been available as open source software since 2017.

Through varied presentations and essential hands-on labs, you'll master the concepts, architecture, and practical steps for:
- Introduction to OpenShift Virtualisation concepts and architecture
- Deploying and managing virtual machines
- Starting and Stoping VMs
- Defining and using InstanceTypes
- Comparison with typical Kubernetes workload
- VM images
- Deploying and Managing Hosted Control Planes
Requirements
Participants will need a laptop with direct access to the Internet.
Target audience
The workshop is aimed at people who already have prior knowledge of container technologies, Git and Kubernetes.
Conditions
At least 6 Participants are required for the workshop to take place.
